The Cringiest Parenting Posts of the Week (Christmas Edition) (December 25, 2023)

Merry Christmas, everybody! If I were you, I probably wouldn't be spending Jesus's birthday scrolling through humiliating posts from Facebook moms, but then again, I'm not you! Maybe you don't celebrate Christmas, or you unwrapped all of your presents in a mere 20 minutes! There's only so much you can do to fill your time on this beautiful planet, and who am I to be judging you for scrolling through something that I created! 

This Christmas, I'm grateful that I'm not in a Facebook group that regularly advocates putting onions in kids' socks instead of going to the doctor. I'm glad that my mom is not airing out my dirty laundry to hundreds of other moms in her community who could easily share it with the rest of the internet. I'm happy that I've got trusted friends to ask for advice instead of total randos online. Now that all of the sentimental nonsense is out of the way, it's time to enjoy some cringe parenting posts.

    For those of you who had a traumatic birth I wanted to share this info. was born at home & delivered by daddy (on purpose). I had previous trauma so I went unassisted. A lot of people don't know they can simply have their baby So yes in all 50 states it is 100% legal to simply have your baby.     Congratulations! I had a mostly wild pregnancy and planned for an unassisted birth but unfortunately at almost 44 weeks my insomnia kicked into overdrive. I ended up exhausted, dehydrated, and decided to go in. Very grateful I was able to have a natural birth in the end, my son and I were the talk of the hospital lol.     Today we experienced something I hope never happens again. I also learned a lot. Noelle our 22mo old went from happy and fine to 24 hrs later common cough, runny nose.. kept her home from school. That night she was burning up and given children's Tylenol for her fever. When she woke up you could hear her discomfort in her chest by the phlegm in her cough and the sound of her cry.     She came to within a few minutes of being in the car and I was beside myself she was breathing, returned to normal skin and crying. She was not herself yet but she was alive. I share all of this because when kids under 6yrs of age have the Flu or a cold some can have a fever of 101F that is nothing to be alarmed about... but 1 in 30 can respond with a non harmful seizure.     3:21 home T WAT I'LL NIGH 4d .. I have a scheduled c section and they said I can't have anything to eat from midnight-noon. That's 12 freaking hours.     My 6 year old son and 2 year old son takes showers together from time to time. They took one last night and this morning I noticed my 2 year old eyebrows have been shaved.     I don't think a punishment is appropriate at all...a conversation on cause and effect needs to be had but he's 6 and with that being said why is a 6 year old kid watching a 2 year old kid in the bathtub? Even together in the tub so much worse could have happened than lost eyebrows 3m Like Reply

    An amazing group. Had my first homebirth for my second baby in Oct 2022 and it was absolutely amazing even though he was born with a defect that wasn't detected until the next day in the evening, I'd still do it all over again! I'd just make sure the midwives gave the baby a 100000% good check over this time But yeah, absolutely wonderful experience so excited for you! 14 m Like Reply

    FINALLY! we found a suitable home. Open, bright and airy and in a gates golf estate which is an absolute plus in our country.
